Components

Automotive parts we manufacture

All to customer drawing, all in repeat series. The list below reflects what actually runs on our machines for automotive customers today.

Sensor housings

Tight form and position tolerances around the sensing element, a sealing interface and an external thread. Normally supplied with 100% inspection and full PPAP.

Pins & pivot pins

Case-hardened pins for linkages and mechanisms, where surface hardness and straightness determine wear life.

Shafts

Slender turned shafts machined on sliding head automatics, hardened and hard-turned where the bearing seat demands it.

Connectors

Threaded and sealed connectors for fluid and electrical interfaces, in brass or free-cutting stainless steel.

Bushes & washers

Bore-critical parts and thin turned washers produced in very high volume on rotary transfer and sliding head machines.

Screws, bolts & nuts

Machined fasteners with non-standard geometry, plated to the customer's corrosion class specification.

The same processes also serve e-bike drive unit components — a segment we entered specifically through our 2021 machine investment.

Why automotive is different

What IATF 16949 actually obliges us to do

An automotive customer is not buying parts; they are buying the assurance that part number 4711 will be identical in three years. Here is how that is delivered.

Advanced product quality planning

Before the first part is cut, the process is designed: machine selection, tooling, fixturing, gauges, control plan and reaction plan. Concurrent engineering shortens the timeline without shortening the analysis.

Process FMEA

Every failure mode is identified with its cause, its effect on the customer and the control that will detect it. High-risk items get poka-yoke or 100% inspection, not a note in a procedure.

Capability and SPC

Machine and process capability studies prove the process before series release; SPC on critical characteristics detects drift while it is still adjustable, not after a batch is scrap.

PPAP level 5

Full submission with all supporting evidence — dimensional results, material and performance test results, measurement system analysis, capability studies, control plan, FMEA and sample parts — available on the customer's premises when required.

IMDS

Material composition entered into the International Material Data System so your end-of-life vehicle reporting obligations are satisfied without chasing us for data.

Change control

No process, material or supplier change happens without customer notification and, where required, re-approval. This is what stops a "small improvement" becoming a field failure.

Zero defects

100% inspection where a single escape would stop a line

Automotive assembly lines do not tolerate a mixed batch. For characteristics where a single non-conforming part would cause a stoppage or a safety issue, we install 100% camera sorting — every part is imaged and measured, and the sorter physically separates anything outside limits.

For everything else, SPC on critical dimensions plus bespoke gauges at the machine give operators immediate feedback. The measuring room is where we confirm results, not where we discover problems.

Are you an IATF 16949 certified automotive supplier?

Yes. We hold a current IATF 16949 certificate alongside BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 14001. Copies are on the documents page.

Do you supply PPAP and IMDS?

Yes — FMEA, process capability studies and full PPAP level 5 submissions when required, plus IMDS material data entry. Tell us the submission level at enquiry stage so it is included in the project plan and the price.

Which automotive components do you machine?

Sensor housings, screws, pins, pivot pins, shafts, connectors, bolts, washers, bushes and nuts, plus components for e-bike drive units — all Ø 2–52 mm.

Can you meet automotive corrosion class requirements?

Yes. Zinc-nickel and rack zinc systems are routinely applied for high corrosion classes through our qualified plating partners, verified against your standard and salt spray requirement.

Do you accept customer and second-party audits?

How do you handle capacity for a volume ramp-up?

With 50 sliding head automatics and 20 turret centres, most parts can be duplicated onto a second machine. We would rather discuss a forecast early than discover a ramp-up in a call-off.
