Processes
Four turning technologies, one quality system
Which machine a part runs on is an engineering decision, not a scheduling one. Getting it right is where most of the cost saving lives.
Sliding head turning
Swiss-type automatics for long, slender components where concentricity over length is critical. The natural home for Ø 2–32 mm parts in high volume.
Turret turning
CNC turret centres for larger diameters up to Ø 52 mm, chucking work, castings and components with heavier milling content.
Hard turning
Super-precision machines that cut hardened material after heat treatment, replacing grinding operations and shortening the process chain.
Rotary transfer
Hydromat machines for very high volume series, where cycle time per part is measured in seconds.

Our standard series production range is Ø 2–52 mm; the table shows the full machine envelope. Machines include Citizen L20, A20, L32 and B12, INDEX ABC, Gildemeister Twin 32, Nakamura WT150 and a Hydromat HW20 rotary transfer machine.

CNC precision turning FAQ
What diameter range can you turn?
We machine precision turned components from 2 mm to 52 mm in diameter, from bar stock and from castings.
Do you machine to customer drawings?
Yes. All production is based on customer drawings and technical documentation. We are a contract manufacturer and do not sell a standard catalogue of parts.
What tolerances can you hold?
Our measuring equipment resolves to microns and our sliding head machines are specified for micron-level tolerances. The achievable tolerance depends on material, geometry and process, so we confirm it per part during quotation — and we will say so if a drawing calls for something that is not economically machinable.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our minimum lot size is 5,000 pieces, up to 5,000,000 pieces per series. Programming, tooling and setting a CNC turning machine cost roughly the same at any quantity, so below that figure the setup dominates the price per part. We are at our most competitive on repeat series.
Can you handle secondary operations and surface treatment?
Yes. Grinding, heat treatment and galvanic coatings are managed through our qualified supplier network, so you receive a finished, plated, washed and inspected part. See finishing on products.
